Fertilizer can be used on all lawn types and on new or established lawns.
When to Apply:
Apply any time grass is actively growing
How to Apply:
For best application results, use a drop or rotary spreader. We recommend that you apply on a freshly mowed lawn. Be sure to overlap slightly for even coverage and to avoid striping.
Use care when applying near water, storm drains, or drainage ditches to keep our waters clean. We recommend you do not apply if heavy rain is expected. Sweep any product that lands on a driveway, sidewalk, or street back onto your lawn after application.
Rates of Application:
We recommend choosing one of the following application frequencies.
- Two applications per year: 30 lbs covers up to 4,000 sq. ft. per application (suggested applications in May and September).
- Three applications per year: 30 lbs covers up to 6,000 sq. ft per application (suggested applications in April, June, and September).
- Four applications per year: 30 lbs covers up to 8,000 sq. ft. per application (suggested applications in April, June, August, and October).
Established Lawns: Use application rates as listed above.
New Lawns/Overseeding: Use application rates as listed above. New seed can be sown on same day as fertilizer application.
Sodding: Using rates listed above, apply to the finished soil grade prior to sod installation.
