Biochar application rates depend on local soil conditions. A 2-10% mixture of biochar to soil works well for many applications.
- If using in a pot, mix the biochar evenly throughout the soil
- If using in a garden, mix the biochar evenly throughout the top 6 inches of soil
- If using on a lawn, apply biochar to the top 3 inches of soil. It is best to apply before planting or after aerating.
